FUE Hair Transplantation is a method of motorized follicle extraction from the donor site of the head to the thinning zones.

- Local anaesthetic is used to numb the donor site and recipient areas.

- The patient is awake for the procedure and the whole process is virtually pain-free.

- There is minimal discomfort when administering the local anaesthetic.

- The procedure takes between three to six hours.

- The donor site of the head should be cut short for the procedure and for female procedures, we are able to carry out line shave extraction, in order to avoid fully shaving an area of the donor site.

- The surgeon will extract the follicles and make the placement design, they will then place the follicles with the assistance of nurses.

- The patient leaves the clinic with a gauze on the donor site, which can be removed 1-2 days post procedure.

- The donor site can be washed the day following the procedure.

- The follicle placement area can be washed four days after the procedure and leading up to that time, the patient is required to spray the area with saline solution liquid to keep the area clean and moist.

- The newly planted hairs will fall out within 8-12 weeks but the follicle remains under the skin and new growth begins in 12-16 weeks.

- A full 8-9 months is required for full growth.

- Antibiotics are taken for one week post procedure and the washing instructions are explained clearly by our medical team before leaving the clinic.
